A 2023 American superhero movie called Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is based on the DC comic book character Aquaman. It is the follow-up to Aquaman (2018) and the fifteenth and last movie in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), produced by DC Studios, Atomic Monster, and The Safran Company, with distribution handled by Warner Bros. Pictures. James Wan is the film's director, working from a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. Wan, Johnson-McGoldrick, Jason Momoa, and Thomas Pa'a Sibbett all contributed to the story's conception. Alongside Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Randall Park, Dolph Lundgren, Temuera Morrison, Martin Short, and Nicole Kidman, Momoa plays Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the film.

During the first Aquaman movie's filming, Momoa submitted a screenplay idea for a follow-up. Although Wan agreed to supervise development in January 2019, he did not want to rush a sequel. A month later, Johnson-McGoldrick committed to return as a screenwriter, and in August 2020, Wan's comeback as director was officially announced. He said that the movie would build upon Aquaman's worldbuilding and revealed the June 2021 release date for the follow-up. Filming was done in New Jersey, Hawaii, Los Angeles, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand. It started at the end of the month and ended in January 2022.
