Living with his wife Bhuvaneshwari, younger brother Vikram "Vicky," and other family members, Rajaram operates a restaurant. Rajaram aspires to a tranquil, law-abiding lifestyle, but Vicky becomes rebellious when they encounter injustice. Following a fight with competitor restaurateur Paparao, Vicky sets fire to his home, where Rajaram tries to coerce Vicky into turning herself in to the authorities. Vicky flees to Kolkata as a result, leaving his village behind. Years later, under the guidance of his adoptive father Guptha, Vicky rises to prominence as a criminal in Kolkata and develops feelings for a girl named Bhairavi, who returns the favor. But because Bhairavi's father thinks Vicky is an orphan, he rejects the union. Bhairavi travels to Hyderabad with Vicky to meet his family.
